In yet another attempt to bring pro football to Central Florida, the Orlando Rage debuted with the rest of the original XFL in 2001 season, that league's only season. The team finished with 8 wins and 2 losses while averaging 25,000 fans a game to the old Citrus Bowl. The Rage ended up like the area's other teams, the , , , , and Orlando Apollos.
